One day Harris went to a place called Hopedale. On the way to Hopedale he saw a kigiak. He tried to kill it but it ran away. Harris heard a lot of Inuktitut. When he was in Hopedale he was there for about 3 months. When he went back to Ottawa he was speaking in Inuk. Nobody could understand him.
Harris went back to Hopedale when he was 16 years old. When he
went down he started to smoke. Harris’ best friend was Bobby. Bobby and Harris started to drink. Harris’ parents heard that Harris was drinking and they didn’t mind that. Harris and Bobby started to make trouble at Sean’s house. They beat up Amos and Craig.
Bobby and Harris learned their lesson after they were in jail for 10 months. When Harris was in jail he had stomach cancer. Harris was so evil when he was drunk he had a golden eye. Harris taught alot of people Inuk. When Harris and Bobby got out of jail they saw a nunivakkak. They tried to chase it but it ran away. All of Hopedale Parents, teenagers, Elders, and babies knew Inuk. Bobby and Harris quit drinking. They were alcoholics. Jail taught them a lesson. They had quit 13 months ago. They had quit smoking because it was hard to get and they had to pay a lot to the store because they borrowed it.
A year after Harris had found himself a girlfriend. Her name was
Maggie. Harris and Maggie were going together for the rest of their lives. They both spoke Inuk. Maggie got pregnant. After nine whole months she had her baby. Her baby was born on October 15th, 2001. She had a baby boy. The baby’s name was Conrad. He grew up to be an Inuit hunter. That was the only son they had. He always got tuttuk, ikaluk.
